Mrs Jayne Kennedy

Chair of Governors

I have been a Governor since 2014 when I was elected as a Parent Governor for my Finance skills. I now sit on the Governing Body as a co-opted Governor and have the responsibility of Chair of Governors and subject lead for English and Religious Education (RE). Previously, I spent six years chairing the Finance, Buildings and Lettings Committee, now part of the Resources Committee, and four years as vice chair of governors. My background is in Corporate Finance and I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. I am currently employed as the Clerk and Returning Finance Officer for Horton Parish Council. My two children attended Wraysbury school as their primary school and both enjoyed their time there. As a Governor I have always been passionate about the education, opportunities and support Wraysbury School offers to all of its pupils. I have lived in Wraysbury for over 10 years now and in my spare time I like to walk, travel, read and play badminton.

Claire Robertson

Vice Chair of Governors

Having recently moved into the village my family and I have immediately felt welcomed by the community, and the role of School Governor would be an ideal opportunity for me to give something back to this community. I grew up in a village community in North Wales and having spent 20 years living within London, moving to Wraysbury has provided the perfect village setting for my family. My two daughters joined the school in November of last year (2022) when we moved into the village. They have settled into the school and village amazingly well and I think that is partly due to the teachers and the school. I’m looking forward to making a commitment to the school in becoming a Parent Governor so that I can assist the school with its fiduciary duties in making it the best possible place for children to begin their education. I believe a school can shape a child’s educational and emotional development and I hope that my attributes and experience in Management, Project development and change will enable me to make positive contribution to the success of Wraysbury Primary School. I have been a trustee on the board of Otakar which is a charity that assists Autistic children in their challenges through music, I have also been on the committee of a COE Youth club in Fulham where I assisted with budgeting and Activity planning for the local children in the area. Within my current organisation I also spent 8 years as co-chair of our WPDN (Wellington Personal Development Network) Committee which was focused on early career professionals and their development and integration into the firm. I am the Relationship Manager in an Asset Management firm and work with clients based in the Nordics/Benelux and Sovereign regions as well as managing a team of 30 analysts. I believe communication is key to any relationship and look forward to putting my skill set into action during my tenure as a parent Governor at the school.

Mr Roly Latif

Governor

I joined Wraysbury Primary School as a Community Governor in 2020, during what was a particularly challenging year due to COVID-19. Over the past year I’ve been settling into my role on the Resources panel and I’m looking forward to being part of the school’s future plans and ambitions. I’ve lived in Wraysbury for over 7 years with my wife and work for Heathrow Airport Ltd. as Head of Safety, Health and Wellbeing for Infrastructure projects. During my spare time I enjoy cycling, walking with my dog and socialising; something that’s extremely easy to do in Wraysbury!

Ruth Fogg

Governor

I am the Governor with responsibility for Safeguarding. I am part of the Curriculum, Pupil Welfare and School Community Committee which I find extremely interesting, gaining insight to all the learning schemes, meeting staff and being able to contribute to policy development. I am especially interested in special needs education – I have been deaf since childhood after a car accident and wear hearing aids in both ears and need to lipread. I received very little educational support as a child so I am pleased to see how supportive and efficient WPS is at supporting children with SEND. My business is Stressworx, helping people of all ages to overcome stress in their lives. I am also a speaker and author. You can find me at The Health Hub on Tuesday mornings. I am a founder member of Wraysbury Matters which “promotes a happy and healthy community in Wraysbury and Horton” My background is in teaching and youth work – I was Head of the Youth Service in a London Borough before taking early retirement for personal reasons. I was also an Ofsted Inspector and Trustee of YMCA London South West and YMCA National Training. I am an Honorary Fellow of Brunel University and Fellow of the International Stress Management Association. I have lived in Wraysbury since 1990, both my sons attended Wraysbury Primary School and I have many fond memories of their days there. Both now have first class degrees and successful careers and their thirst for learning started at WPS!

David Hicks

Parent Governor

I really appreciated our friendly, hard-working village community over the 2 years of living in Wraysbury and hope to extend this ethos as a parent governor at the school. My day job is as a global advisor to companies looking to improve the experience they deliver to their customers, and serve as a coach and speaker to leaders in these companies. I have also been the governor of my two older children's school in the past and was particularly proud of helping to secure funding for the building of new classrooms. I am keen to support WPS leadership in continuing to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children.

Miss Sam Jamison

Staff Governor
